CALDWELL, N.J. – Caldwell College freshman outside hitter
Taylor Zaeske (S. Milwaukee, WI/S. Milwaukee) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22, the organization announced. This is the second consecutive ECAC weekly award for Zaeske, who was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player and Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Zaeske averaged 5.00 kills and 1.40 digs per set over three matches last week. In a sweep of Concordia College on Tuesday, she delivered 16 kills while hitting .312 for the match. Then on Thursday, Zaeske set a career high with 24 kills in a 3-1 defeat at Molloy. She also had a team-best 10 kills in a loss to the College of St. Rose on Saturday.
So far this season, Zaeske leads the CACC in kills (153) and ranks second in the league in kills per set (3.82).
The Cougars (5-7) host defending CACC champion Dominican College on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The match starts at 7:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
